What is HLR?
An HLR request is a request to check a contact number in the HLR base of operators, the information bank that stores data about the currently valid phone numbers.
This is a way to check the relevance of the contacts.
Also, the list of information available in the HLR includes:
- operator’s services connected to a SIM card;
- current location of subscribers, recorded using GSM towers;
- bans on the identifier service in the mobile network;
- possibility of packet data transmission.
By making an HLR request, you can understand whether the subscriber is currently abroad (in this case the cost of the sent message will be higher than usual), whether they will receive your message at the moment.
You can check any phone number using thins method thanks to the service that provides access to the common database. This allows to optimize your campaigns and achieve high effectiveness, reducing the risk of errors.
The HLR request doesn’t violate the principles of fair use of personal data and doesn’t contradict the GDPR policy.
We recommend using the HLR check service regularly: to check and clean the contact database from invalid numbers and before each mass campaign to get correct data on its cost.
By using only valid numbers for your campaigns, you will significantly reduce the cost of them.
